About me

I hold a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Montreal, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D in International Relations at the University of Ottawa. In 2023 and 2024, I was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Eurasian and Russian Studies (CEURUS) at the University of Tartu, Estonia.

I am a member of the Research Network on Women, Peace and Security (McGill University) and an emerging scholar at the Network for Strategic Analysis (Queen's University).

Passionate about gender issues in international politics, I have a demonstrated history in qualitative and fieldwork research, writing, editing, teaching, advocacy, policy analysis, communication, and project management/collaboration. My research interests broadly include feminist & postcolonial theories in International Relations, feminist security studies, feminist foreign policies, and global gender norms. I have published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on these issues and presented my work to diverse audiences at several international academic conferences & professional workshops.
In addition to my doctoral studies, it is essential for me to get involved in consultancies, activities, and events regarding gender policies in Canada. For example, as a Steering Committee member of the Women, Peace and Security Network - Canada (WPSN-C), I have provided expertise input and policy recommendations to the Government of Canada on the development of Canada's third National Action Plan (NAP) on Women, Peace and Security and to the Government of Québec on the development of the Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie's future feminist diplomacy approach. As a Gender & Mine Action consultant for Mines Action Canada, I wrote a report on women's employment in the humanitarian disarmament field and am conducting policy-relevant research on gender perspectives in arms control, disarmament & non-proliferation. I also recently co-authored a report on digital peacebuilding with the UN Women Europe and Central Asia Regional Office in Istanbul.

I have an excellent capacity for critical thinking, problem-solving, knowledge dissemination to diverse audiences, multi-tasking, time management and synthesis of large quantities of information and data under tight deadlines. Ultimately, my goal is to transfer and apply my academic expertise to influence and actively participate in gender, peace and security initiatives and policies in Canada and abroad. Producing timely and policy- & advocacy-relevant research is a fundamental part of my work. I am fluent in French and English, and I have intermediate proficiency in Spanish and Russian.
