About me

I don’t fit neatly into any box. I am neither fully an academic nor entirely a practitioner, and that “in-between” space often makes me feel like an outsider in the different spaces I navigate. But my ability to move between sectors, disciplines, and worlds, despite the challenges (including existential ones) it sometimes brings, is one of my greatest strengths. It allows me to translate ideas across contexts, challenge assumptions, and “connect the dots” others might have missed.

I hold a Ph.D in International Relations from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Montreal. In 2023 and 2024, I was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Eurasian and Russian Studies at the University of Tartu in Estonia.
Passionate about gender issues in international politics, I have a proven track record in qualitative and fieldwork research, conflict- and gender-sensitive analysis, teaching/facilitation, advocacy, and knowledge translation. My research interests include feminist theories in International Relations, feminist security studies, feminist foreign policy, and global norms, with a regional focus on Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and the Balkans. I have published numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and reports on these issues and presented my work to diverse audiences at several international conferences and professional workshops.
Alongside my PhD, I stayed actively involved in consultancy, events, and initiatives focused on gender policies in Canada and Eurasia. As a Steering Committee member of the Women, Peace and Security Network  Canada and a member of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Advisory Group between 2022 and 2025, I have provided expertise input and policy recommendations to the Government of Canada on the development of Canada's third National Action Plan on WPS. As a consultant for Mines Action Canada since 2022, I have worked on a variety of assignments focused on gender, youth, and mine action. For example, I wrote a report on women's employment in humanitarian demining and conducted policy-relevant research on gender perspectives in arms control, disarmament & non-proliferation. I also recently co-authored a report on digital peacebuilding with the UN Women Europe and Central Asia Regional Office. Other clients and organizations I have worked with include the Global Network of Women PeacebuildersRight To Play, and the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research.
I excel at critical thinking and synthesizing large amounts of information under tight deadlines. With solid skills in research and knowledge translation, I deliver high-quality, tangible results to the clients I work with. Producing timely, policy—and advocacy-relevant research is central to my work. I am fluent in French and English and have intermediate proficiency in Spanish and Russian. I can also understand the basics of some Slavic languages, as well as Romanian.
